Sunrise Serenade

Enjoyed watching and listening to this red-winged blackbird making his early morning calls along the Missouri River.

He is just wonderful and so is your capture! Just hear him sing. I remeber seeing the red-winged blackbird for the first time when riding down Warner in Huntington Beach by Bolsa Chica Wetlands. The flash of red color as the black bird flew and landed on a fence was so fun to see.

I wonder if he sings as sweetly as the European blackbirds.

Beautiful portrait of the blackbird. Lovely entry for Skywatch.

I just love the red Winged Blackbird. There is a nesting pair down at the pond so the male is buzzing me all the time. It is fun to watch them with the babies too.

That is an excellent shot. MB

Beautiful photo! This reminds me of childhood -- you could always count on finding a red-winged in the cattails!
