A look up toward a blazing-hot summer sky from inside a cool, dark kiva built into the earth. This image was taken on a visit to Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado where ruins of the ancient Pueblo Indian culture are found, which included the kiva or ceremonial rooms still used by some Indian cultures today. More about the evolution of the kiva can found here on Wiki.

Nice shot from inside the kiva. They can be a challenge to photograph.
Great shot! You have captured the cool of the inside of the kiva as well as the heat outside, and in B&W too! Great! Thanks!
You've gotten the exposure just right.. very dramatic!
What a wonderful image! Love it!
Clever view! And your photo really evokes the closeness and depth of the kiva.
Always nice to see through your lens.
Happy weekend!
Great image! I've bee there and think it's an amazing place! I didn't take any wonderful photos there like this, though. :)
It's a fascinating photo, Raf!

Interesting shot...beckoning me to take a peek out there. Have a blessed weekend!
Perfectly composed, and with such beautiful light.
WOW ... What a dramatic photo - It tell the small grey cells to work - Splendid ;)
Knowing absolutely nothing about a kiva, this image is still so interesting and beautiful. Your use of the light in the composition is awesome. Great capture. genie

Fantastic photograph! Great work!
Great shot! I came very close to stopping there during my cross country drive earlier this year. I wish I did. :)
the light ray is beautifully cast... a lovely moment!
Pretty awesome picture!
This is one of your best! I must be included in a book on the kiva's/ the Southwest. Also a true sky-watch image. I can't say enough in its praise.
